Shahsavar is a small city in the north of
Iran.
It has a population of about
174,000 with suburbs (1374 or 1995).
Nice beaches, forests, hills, roads, orchards such as orange, lemon, kiwi, grape fruit, ... and many many beautiful scenes.
Tonkabon (Tonekabon or Shahsavar) is one of the 19 town of Mazandaran that is located in its' western part of the state. Its extend is 2140 Km square. It is 252 Km far from Tehran and 230 Km from Sari (center of state). Shahsavar locates between 36Degree & 24 minute to 36 Degree & 54 minute North latitude from equator and 50 Degree & 45 minute to 51 Degree & 19minute eastern longitude from prime meridian.

Appellative of Tonekabon:
Tonka was the name of a castle, bon=bottom, below. Tonka was a castle in the area of Ghal.e.Gardan and Tonekabon means below of Tonka castle. Olia-ollah-e-Amoli the author of Rooyan history says about the Tonka castle in his book in year of 560 (Hejri ghamari).
Beautiful scenes of Shahsavar:
* Ghal.e.Gardan:
Ghal.e.Gardan is one of the most beautiful scenes of Shahsavar that is 200 meters high. Probably this was the area of Tonka castle. Distance between Ghal.e.gardan and Shahsavar is 9 Km.
* Chaldareh: a flat area that enclose by mountains, from north to Do.Ab area (Do.Ab=an area that two river of Dohezar and Sehezar join together) and Derazlat area, from south to Khormakalleh (a part of Dohezar), from east to Eker mountain and from west to forestal mountain.
* Daryasar: The best site for tourists. From north to Kotena, from south to Hartang, from west to Kaltaleh-e- Siah.Kol and from east to forestal mountain of Teraj.
* Noosha: Noosha is a part of Dohezar area with very nice scenes.
* Geyser (Hot spring): Hot spring of Sehezar has a very good remedial properties for skin and some pain. There are geysers of Falakdeh in the Lirresar and ........ ( will add soon)
